The Role

We're seeking a seasoned and highly skilled Senior Technical Designer to join our Games Studio team at arenaflex. As a Senior Technical Designer, you'll play a critical role in helping us build a brand-new, AAA, multi-platform game that will captivate and engage our audience. You'll partner closely with our Layout Team to implement features and content in a clever, sturdy, and pragmatic way, acting as a pressure multiplier to extend the capability and ability of the team.

Key Responsibilities

* Leverage your UE knowledge to assist and teach other designers

• Raise the technical capability and rigor of the design team through promoting correct practices
• Proactively seek out workflow and device upgrades
• Assist designers troubleshoot issues and implement solutions
• Implement strong, maintainable content and features in Unreal/Blueprint
• Write design specs, vet them with stakeholders, and make clever changes

Essential Qualifications

* Expert knowledge of Unreal Engine and its capabilities (esp. Blueprint, UMG, Animation Blueprint, Gameplay Framework)

• Foundations of 3D math
• Good-sized programming capability with C++
• 2+ years of experience in a technical design position
• 1+ shipped titles in Unreal
• Experience delivering great multiplayer games
• Fantastic communication and collaboration capabilities
• Adour for gaming, incubating, building, and shipping video games

Preferred Qualifications

* Programming experience in Python, C#, and/or Lua

• Art and animation skills useful for early gameplay prototypes (e.g. the ability to model, rig, and animate simple placeholder meshes)
