The Opportunity: Avantor is looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our service team in Portugal. The responsibilities of this role include providing technical support to our customers in the research, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries. This is a full-time, mobile position covering the North of Portugal.Activities Preparation and installation of equipment: electrical connections, piping connections, software configuration. Maintenance and qualification of equipment. Repair of breakdowns. Telephone support to customers. Customer training. Administrative management of the technical support performed Stock control and exchanges. Placing material orders. Prefer cool certificate

Responsibilities

Ensure an adequate and timely response to the customer. Maintain daily contact with different stakeholders. Ensure daily contact with the client’s designated responsible persons. Ensure the correct development of technical support from installation through periodic maintenance. Control maintenance contract conditions and ensure compliance. Verify understanding and effective application of the training provided to customers. Contribute to cost optimization. Ensure the accuracy and reliability of the information handled. Resolve incidents in accordance with ISO criteria. Apply established service technical work processes and standards, including risk prevention. Whenever necessary, use the PPE established for each case. Ensure proper implementation of new policies. Maintain order and cleanliness at the workplace. Comply with internal standards regarding waste segregation and management. Comply with road traffic regulations and any other applicable legislation related to driving vehicles. Comply with internal safety and hygiene regulations. Comply with occupational safety and health regulations related to job-related risks. Ensure confidentiality in all matters related to work carried out at customer sites. Other activities and responsibilities that may be assigned. REQUIRED PROFILE (Education, Professional Experience) Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Technical Service department. Driving license Good practices in Data Integrity. Knowledge of laboratory equipment (microscopes, incubators, spectrophotometers, freezers, HPLC etc.). Knowledge of electricity and electronics. Experience in repairing laboratory instruments and equipment. Advanced IT skills. Good communication skills. Intermediate level of English (B2).
