We’re looking for a Director of Human Resources to lead people strategy across multiple manufacturing sites—someone who can balance big-picture thinking with what’s actually happening on the floor. This is a high-impact leadership role partnering directly with our COO, shaping how we attract, develop, and retain talent across operations, engineering, and support functions. What You’ll Do Partner with the COO to align people strategy with production goals, operational performance, and long-term growth Lead HR across 7 manufacturing sites, coaching HR Managers and driving consistency while adapting to local needs Build workforce strategies to support high-volume hiring, specialized roles, and seasonal fluctuations Shape organizational design across EHS, CI, S&OP, and Engineering to improve efficiency and collaboration Drive a culture of safety and performance, partnering closely with EHS and operations leaders Lead change initiatives tied to continuous improvement, lean principles, and evolving business needs Enhance compensation and retention strategies for manufacturing talent, improving engagement and reducing turnover What We’re Looking For 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including multi-site manufacturing leadership Strong experience supporting technical or operational functions (Engineering, EHS, Supply Chain, etc.) Proven ability to influence senior leadership and operate as a true business partner Deep understanding of manufacturing environments (labor planning, workforce challenges, shop-floor dynamics) Experience leading change, transformation, or CI initiatives Solid knowledge of labor laws and compliance (OSHA, FLSA, FMLA, etc.) Bachelor’s degree required; SHRM-SCP or SPHR preferred Why You’ll Love Working Here Opportunity to shape people strategy at scale across a growing manufacturing network Direct visibility and partnership with executive leadership A company that values safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement The chance to make a real impact from the shop floor to the leadership table Additional Details Location: Remote (with travel to plant locations) Travel: ~10–20% Salary Range: $155,000 – $175,000 + bonus What we offer you: Paid time off Medical, dental, and vision benefits 401k with company match Career growth opportunities Employee Assistance Program Employee appreciation & recognition programs About Us: Lakeside Book Company loves books!
