Position Summary The Multilingual Learner/English Language Learner (ML/ELL) Coordinator ensures that multilingual students at Williamsburg Academy of Colorado receive equitable, high-quality language development services aligned with state and federal requirements. This role leads identification, assessment, individualized language planning, compliance management, and targeted instructional support in a remote learning environment. The ML/ELL Coordinator partners with mentors, families, and leadership to build systems that promote student growth, belonging, and academic success. Essential Duties (Top 5 Roles)

  • Identification, Assessment & Compliance Leadership
  • Complete and maintain required WIDA test administrator certifications.
  • Support additional staff in completing required test administrator certifications as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and administer WIDA Screener and ACCESS testing, including locating and scheduling in-person test sites across Colorado.
  • Monitor home language surveys and ensure timely identification of ML/ELL students.
  • Maintain compliance with Colorado Department of Education (CDE) and federal requirements.
  • Track reclassification criteria and exit documentation.
  • Individualized Language Planning & Direct Support
  • Assess English language proficiency and develop individualized English Language Development Plans (ELDs) in Enrich.
  • Provide targeted language instruction (individual or small group) focused on reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Support ML/ELL students in preparing for state assessments.
  • Monitor student growth using WIDA growth targets and internal academic data.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate on ML/ELL & SPED overlap cases as needed.
  • Systems Development & Program Management
  • Develop and refine WAC processes for ML/ELL identification, service delivery, documentation, and monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate records of services, progress, testing, and family communication.
  • Manage and monitor language development platforms (e.g., Off2Class or equivalent tools).
  • Contribute to improvement efforts related to BOCES site visits and compliance reviews.
  • Provide reporting and data insights to school leadership.
  • Mentor & Staff Collaboration
  • Support mentors in adapting instruction and materials to meet ML/ELL student needs.
  • Provide professional development on best practices for online ML/ELL instruction.
  • Offer coaching and consultation to staff regarding scaffolding, accommodations, and culturally responsive practices.
  • Collaborate with Academic and Special Programs teams to ensure alignment across services.
  • Family Partnership & Advocacy
  • Serve as a liaison for ML/ELL families navigating online education systems.
  • Communicate regularly via Zoom, phone, text, and email.
  • Provide translated resources or coordinate interpretation services when needed.
  • Promote a sense of belonging and proactive communication to strengthen student engagement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Required:
  • * Bachelor’s degree in Education, TESOL, Linguistics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Valid Colorado teaching license with CLD endorsement (or ability to obtain).
  • Experience serving ML/ELL students in K–12 settings; online experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of WIDA standards and Colorado ML compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to interpret assessment data and create actionable learning plans.
  • Clear, professional communication skills across diverse communities.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating cross-functionally.
  • Preferred:
  • * Bilingual or multilingual proficiency.
  • Experience in charter or online public schools.
  • Experience preparing for compliance audits or BOCES site visits.
  • Familiarity with MTSS frameworks and ML/SPED intersections.

Physical And Mental Requirements / Working Conditions

  • Average 25–30 hours per week; may increase to 35+ during testing windows.
  • Primarily remote; periodic in-person travel required for test administration within Colorado.
  • Ability to manage deadlines during state testing windows.
