About the Role

We are seeking a Workday HRIS Specialist to support and grow within our HRIS team. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on Workday administration experience who is eager to deepen their technical skill set, learn how Workday operates across our organization, and contribute meaningfully. The individual in this position will be exposed to and involved in Workday work across modules and the baseline framework to build a strong, end-to-end understanding of the system. This role offers ongoing opportunities to grow and take on increased responsibility, supported by mentorship, continuous learning, and collaboration with experienced HRIS team members, aligned to individual readiness, performance, and evolving team priorities.

Key Responsibilities

The HRIS Specialist plays a critical role in enabling the organization by ensuring HR systems are reliable, secure, and aligned to both business strategy and the way people work. Acting as a key link between HR, IT, and the wider business, this role translates organizational and employee needs into intuitive, scalable system solutions that support workforce planning, compliance, and informed decision-making. Through strong data integrity, well-designed workflows, and continuous improvement, the HRIS Specialist enhances employee experience, ensures fair and consistent people processes, and strengthens the organization’s ability to grow and adapt. Workday Administration & Configuration

  • Administer and configure Workday across core modules including HCM, Compensation, Recruiting & Onboarding, Absence, Integration, Business Process Framework, and Security.
  • Support readiness for future modules.
  • Configure and maintain business processes and security roles within established governance.
  • Execute configuration changes with strong system discipline, including testing and validation in Sandbox prior to production deployment.

Workday Releases & Adoption

  • Lead bi-annual Workday releases, including review of release notes, adoption planning, testing, documentation, and rollout of selected features.
  • Track and assess upcoming Workday enhancements for future implementation.
  • Support demos, communications, and knowledge sharing related to new functionality.

Reporting, Data & Integrations

  • Partner with HRIS, Data Analytics teams, and stakeholders to support reporting, dashboards, and data needs across day-to-day operations and annual projects.
  • Build, test, and load EIBs; support data audits, reconciliations, and issue resolution as required.

Documentation, Training & Enablement

  • Own and maintain documentation for configurations, annual processes, and system enhancements.
  • Develop knowledge articles, training materials, and short demos to support HR partners and end users.

Collaboration & Team Support

  • Collaborate closely with HR, IT, and business partners while adhering to governance and escalation paths.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively, seeking clarification when needed and contributing to team priorities, including helping reduce backlog.

Required Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of hands-on Workday administration experience
  • Direct hands-on experience configuring, testing, and implementing Workday
  • Experience working in a production Workday tenant
  • Solid understanding of general technology concepts and system lifecycle
  • Strong respect for testing, validation, and change management standards
  • High attention to detail and follow-through
  • Professional and solutions-focused mindset
