Responsibilities: The Collections Specialist is responsible for administrative tasks, the collection of outstanding account receivables (insurance & patients), all aspects of collection, analysis, and resolution of billing problems, and reducing accounts receivable delinquency. Essential Duties:
- Provide customer service regarding collection issues.
- Resolve insurance discrepancies and short payments.
- Utilize knowledge of payor portals, automated clearing houses, explanation of benefits (EOB’s), and other tools to successfully complete Accounts Receivable tasks.
- Document in detail problem/action/and follow up with insurance companies until claims are fully adjudicated.
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts.
- Accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts.
- Initiate and resolve Appeals for many different insurance payers as assigned.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED required, college degree is preferred.
- Three (3)–five (5) years’ high volume collections experience.
- Accounts Receivable knowledge/experience preferred.
