Experienced External Support Engineer – Content Tools and Workflow Expert

Your expertise will be the first point of contact for content teams when they encounter issues with our tools, and you'll be responsible for filtering issues and feedback to the tools team.

Job Summary

As an External Support Engineer, you'll be responsible for providing technical support to content teams, creating reference materials and training programs, and solving complex issues with tools and workflows. You'll work closely with our tools engineering team to develop and improve our content tools, and you'll be a key advocate for our users' needs and feedback. Essential Functions/Responsibilities

* Provide technical support to content/external teams in regard to use of content tools, including troubleshooting and resolving issues

  • Create reference materials and provide training to get external teams up to speed with the toolset, including documentation, tutorials, and workshops
  • Solve and debug possible issues with tools and workflows to quickly resolve issues for users, and escalate more complex or problematic issues to the tool development team
  • Work with production to track issues in JIRA, and collaborate with other engineers to develop tools and processes that improve efficiency and quality
  • Advocate for tools, workflow improvements, and suggestions from external teams, and partner with other engineers to drive features from initial concept to completion
  • Guide or lead cross-disciplinary dialogs to drive features from initial concept to completion, and exemplify reliability, accountability, and professionalism in all work-related interactions

Skills and Abilities

* Ability to read and understand C# code, and experience with Unity 3D game and tool development

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including working with external partners and stakeholders
  • Positive attitude and ability to receive and provide objective and constructive feedback, and excellent organizational skills
  • Self-motivating, with the ability to prioritize and manage numerous requests simultaneously, and experience with Jira, Confluence, or other defect-tracking software
  • Experience with iOS and Android mobile development, and 5 years of experience in delivering production-level code in a professional environment

Education and Experience

* Computer Science or related degree, or equivalent work experience, and experience supporting a live service or tool environment

  • Strong understanding of software development principles, and experience with agile development methodologies
  • Familiarity with arenaflex's content creation tools and workflows, and experience with cloud-based services and infrastructure

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Our core hours are 10:00 am to 6:00 pm CST, which means you should be available for meetings and collaborations during this time. We're a remote-friendly company, and we're open to discussing flexible work arrangements that meet your needs.

Salary and Benefits

At arenaflex, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors to determine your personal top of the market. We rely on market indicators to determine compensation and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to get it right. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location. The overall market range for roles in this area of arenaflex is typically $150,000 – 325,000. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
