Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our Item Execution and Instrumentation Group. As a key member of this team, you'll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data systems that support our business needs. You'll work closely with our Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and other stakeholders to develop and implement data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions that meet our high standards for quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and build scalable data systems using Scala, Python, and other programming languages

  • Develop and maintain ETL pipelines in Big Data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid)
  • Implement Lakehouse engineering, working with key partners to move towards a Lakehouse-driven data platform
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and other stakeholders to design, execute, and deliver effective data solutions
  • Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to ensure data quality and data governance
  • Ensure high functional proficiency and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support obligations to our clients (Data Science, Data Engineering groups)
  • Participate in agile/scrum practices to ensure team health and collaboration
  • Act as a problem solver, researching and organizing to find solutions to new challenges
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes and streamline costs
  • Engage with and understand our clients, forming relationships that enable us to understand and focus on both innovative new offerings and steady platform enhancements

Required Education, Experience, Abilities, and Training

* Strong algorithmic thinking ability

  • Solid SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets
  • Active experience with distributed systems, such as Spark and PySpark, to query and handle data
  • Strong proficiency in Scala and Python programming languages
  • Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (ideally Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
  • Strong experience with data integration toolsets (i.e. Apache Beam) and composing and maintaining data pipelines with Databricks
  • Experience in data modeling procedures and data warehousing standard approaches and practices
  • Familiarity with Scrum and Agile approaches
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to collaborate with others and build consensus in a cross-functional team towards an optimal result

Required Education

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience
