Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at our maximum security, all-male forensic mental health facility in Chattahoochee, FL. As an LPN at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, administering medications, and collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our residents.

Responsibilities

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at arenaflex, your key responsibilities will include:

• Assessing resident complaints and determining action, notifying supervisor when necessary
• Admitting and transferring residents to and from other units or outside sources
• Administering oral and/or injectable medication and controlled medications in accordance with facility policy, and within your scope of practice as defined by Florida law
• Observing for side effects or adverse effects to medication and reporting to assigned supervisor, or further assessment and treatment
• Preparing paperwork as required for consults within facility and outside appointments
• Coordinating residents' appointments with unit staff to ensure medications are appropriately timed as needed for resident movement to and from the unit
• Providing emergency medical/psychiatric treatment within scope of practice as defined by facility and Florida law, and notifying supervisor for further assistance
• Completing incident reports factually and objectively, within the appropriate time frame as defined by the facility
• Completing progress notes on resident care within the appropriate time frame as defined by the facility
• Advocating for residents' recovery and safety
• Maintaining appropriate and professional behavior during interactions with residents', supervisors, and other staff members
• Displaying professionalism throughout employment, including arriving to work on time, maintaining an accurate timesheet, and maintaining professional appearance as defined by facility policy

Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age at time of hire
• Hold unencumbered licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Have one year of nursing experience, strongly preferred
• Be CPR certified, or able to complete training
• Be able to complete full orientation at time of hire
• Be able to fulfill physical requirements of position, including ability to lift and carry 20 lbs., remain alert while on duty, and work 16-hour shifts on occasion
