About the Role

  • This position is responsible for supporting and administering workplace accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA/ADAAA).
  • The ADA Specialist will work closely with employees, healthcare providers, HR Business Partners, managers, and legal teams to evaluate and implement reasonable accommodations.
  • The role involves handling accommodation requests, tracking open cases, ensuring compliance, and maintaining detailed documentation throughout the interactive process.
  • This is a hybrid opportunity with 50% remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the interactive process for ADA accommodation requests
  • Review medical documentation and communicate with healthcare providers when needed
  • Partner with HR teams, managers, and legal counsel regarding accommodation decisions
  • Maintain accurate documentation and case records within case management systems
  • Monitor and track open accommodation cases to ensure timely resolution
  • Conduct reviews of current accommodations to ensure continued effectiveness and compliance
  • Provide professional and neutral support while handling sensitive employee matters

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience administering ADA programs for medium to large organizations
  • Strong understanding of ADA accommodation processes and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with MS Office applications and case management platforms
  • Ability to work independently, manage sensitive situations, and provide sound recommendations
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR, SHRM-CP, CLMS, or ADAC certification preferred
  • Knowledge of state paid family and medical leave programs preferred
