About the position The Prior Authorization/Centralized Scheduler will be the healthcare access representative to patients and/or providers utilizing positive public relations skills when scheduling patient visits or procedures. This position will pre-register patients, schedule appointments using the applicable program, obtain authorization, and verify medical necessity. Responsible to handle all aspects of the prior authorization process, scheduling encounter, assisting healthcare professionals or patients to experience the ideal patient encounter with friendly, courteous assistance and high level of professionalism. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of patient information and test orders, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.

  • High School or GED
  • Minimum one (1) year medical front office experience, preferably within an acute healthcare system, required.
