About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer II to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and conducting research on machine learning systems and models that support our healthcare initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze datasets, develop predictive models, and implement solutions that enhance decision-making processes and improve health outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in data science, statistical analysis, and software development, with the ability to manage complex ML projects from conception to deployment. This position offers the flexibility of telecommuting full-time, with the opportunity to work remotely from any location within the U.S., and requires minimal travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Science and Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in machine learning and data analysis
  • Experience designing, developing, and conducting research on machine learning systems and models
  • Proficiency in maintaining and supporting ML/AI software platforms
  • Strong analytical skills for error analysis and model improvement strategies
  • Proficiency in writing software code for data extraction, model training, and deployment automation
  • Experience analyzing errors in financial, fraud, waste, and abuse models
  • Ability to manage resources effectively to meet project deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate business objectives and technical solutions

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and conduct research on machine learning models and algorithms suitable for healthcare analytics
  • Identify and address differences in data distribution that may impact real-world model performance
  • Analyze use cases of ML algorithms and translate findings into actionable business insights through data visualization
  • Maintain and support ML/AI software platforms by troubleshooting and resolving issues
  • Develop models aligned with business objectives and establish metrics for tracking progress
  • Write software documentation and code to extract data from various databases and sources
  • Manage hardware, data, and personnel resources to ensure timely project delivery
  • Deploy predictive models using established software patterns and automation techniques
  • Explore and visualize data to verify quality and gain insights
  • Analyze model errors and develop strategies for error reduction and improvement
  • Automate model training, deployment, and monitoring processes through software coding
