Patient Services Specialist - Patient Access
Work in conjunction with an RN/provider to ensure quality patient care and optimum customer service. Responsible for coordinating inpatient and outpatient surgical cases. Provides routine and complex financial counseling to patients, researches routine and complex referral and billing issues and completes routine and complex encounter form coding for all surgical cases. Required Qualifications: Health care or insurance experience. 1 year ambulatory practice experience. 1 year experience with coding ICD9, CPT, and HCPCS. 1 year third party billing and referrals experience. Prior experience in liaison role for providers and staff. Preferred Qualifications: 1 year comparable experience in an out patient care setting. Experience with Windows, Word, Excel. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
