Software Engineer, Payments & Fraud

Remote · USA Full-time New today

Lime is the largest global shared micromobility business, operating in close to 30 countries across five continents. We’re on a mission to build a future where transportation is shared, affordable and carbon-free. Our electric bikes and scooters have powered more than one billion rides in cities around the world. Named a 2025 Time 100 Most Influential Company, Lime continues to set the pace for shared micromobility globally, spurring a new generation of clean alternatives to car ownership. Are you a backend or fullstack engineer driven by precision and reliability? Do you feel energized when your work has a direct impact on the success of the business and the experience of our customers? Lime’s Payments and Fraud team is growing and we’re looking for software engineers that are excited to get the details right. Our Payments work is essential for keeping Lime rolling. We operate as a full-stack team that owns the customer payment experience and are an owner of the financial data that powers the business. Our Fraud work involves delivering sophisticated heuristic and model-based systems to ensure our customers can pay while preventing abuse and defending the platform. You’ll work with an established team of Backend and Mobile engineers to define and ship new capabilities by regularly collaborating with Product Management, Design, and Data to build the best possible outcomes. Working on Payments and Fraud offers the opportunity to deliver a broad range of projects, including optimizing the customer payment flow, enabling specialized capabilities for local markets, and building tools to drive our financial efficiency. This is a remote position with a requirement for candidates to reside in Canada to maintain effective collaboration across teams. What You'll Do: You’ll ship complex and detail-focused projects by collaborating with fellow Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, Data Scientists, and representatives from Support and Finance. Build features at scale, shipping robust platforms that process millions of transactions. Understand our customers’ success and the health of our systems through monitoring and data analytics. Engage with world-class infrastructure and experiment with modern AI tools to multiply engineering effectiveness. Grow via mentorship, collaboration, and learning activities. Participate in the shaping of Lime's Engineering culture. About You: 2+ years of professional software development experience, and a track record of building impactful products or systems. Owner's mindset: you're focused on outcomes and can solve problems to get there. Data driven: You instrument your work for decision making, you can reason through data to learn from our customers. Excellent communication skills and effective management of competing priorities. Learning focused: you’re eager to grow your skills and curious about how AI development tools can improve our effectiveness. Preferred Experience: You have experience in payment processing, accounting, fraud, or business operations. You’re enthusiastic about Lime's mission and micromobility; you want to see cities transform to become people-centric and less polluted. The base salary range listed reflects what Lime reasonably expects to offer for this role, with the final base salary determined by objective factors such as the candidate’s location and relevant skills and experience. Depending on the position, the total compensation package may also include discretionary annual performance bonus opportunities and equity, subject to applicable plan terms and eligibility requirements. #LI-TP1 #LI-Remote If you want to make an impact, Lime is the place for you.
