Senior Telecom Systems Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Telecom Systems Engineer to join their advanced telecommunications division. This is a remote role, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the US, focusing on the design, implementation, and maintenance of sophisticated telecommunication systems. You will be at the forefront of developing and managing voice, data, and video communication networks, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of IP networking, VoIP technologies (SIP, H.323), PBX systems, mobile communication standards (LTE, 5G), and relevant hardware and software platforms. Your responsibilities will include architecting new solutions, troubleshooting complex issues, performing system upgrades, and ensuring adherence to industry best practices and security standards. You will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to integrate new technologies and enhance existing infrastructure. We are looking for an individual with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, strong project management capabilities, and the ability to work independently and proactively in a remote setting. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage robust telecommunication systems, including voice, data, and video networks. Develop and maintain network architectures for IP telephony, unified communications, and mobile infrastructure. Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and system issues, ensuring minimal downtime. Perform system upgrades, patches, and configurations for telecommunications equipment and software. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to enhance network performance and capabilities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure seamless integration and interoperability. Develop and implement network security measures to protect communication systems. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications and operational procedures. Monitor network performance and capacity, implementing optimizations as needed. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in telecommunications systems engineering. In-depth knowledge of IP networking, VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323), and QoS. Experience with PBX systems, unified communications platforms, and contact center technologies. Familiarity with wireless technologies (e.g., LTE, 5G) and related infrastructure. Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices. Proficiency in network monitoring and diagnostic tools. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
