Job Description

Summary - Adjunct Faculty: Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, as well as mentoring students in and outside of the classroom. The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned, be they face-to-face, hybrid, online, or within the context of dual credit instruction. Technical Specialist: Duties directly related to administrative, instructional/academic or student support programs. Tasks performed are non-routine and predominantly original and creative in nature. Position may require a degree or equivalent training/experience in the field. Minimal supervision is required. All members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures. Required Education - Must provide minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching courses designed for workforce certificate or degree completion. These standards include an appropriate academic degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certifications and/or licenses must be included in application. Associate degree and/or 2-5 years work experience in the field of study; Bachelor's degree and/or 6-10 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study; Master's degree and/or 11-15 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study; Doctorate degree and/or 16+ years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study. Required Experience Preferred Education Preferred Experience Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Teach courses in the assigned discipline. Maintain familiarity with and adhere to college policies and procedures. Maintain good rapport with students. Flexibility in schedule to teach day/evening/weekend classes. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice, without discrimination based upon age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation or gender identity; ability to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources and observe the stated policies and procedures of the College.
