Mortgage Closing Specialist I

Location: RemoteDuration: 6 months Primary Responsibilities Serve as liaison for loan closing data gathering to support accurate Closing Disclosure (CD) issuance Manage pipeline workflow and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to ensure on-time closings Validate completeness and accuracy of loan data (taxes, insurance, payoffs, fees, third-party invoices) prior to CD issuance Coordinate with settlement agents, loan officers, underwriting, servicing, and post-closing teams Monitor rate lock and document expirations; proactively resolve issues impacting closing timelines Review loan files for compliance with state, federal, and investor guidelines Ensure readiness and accuracy of system of record data for CD generation Communicate and manage changes to closing dates and resolve discrepancies promptly Scope of Responsibilities End-to-end support of mortgage closing disclosure readiness and coordination High-volume pipeline management in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Cross-functional collaboration across internal teams and external settlement partners Education and Experience Required Strong mortgage closing experience required Experience issuing initial and final Closing Disclosures (CDs) and closing documentation Minimum 1 year mortgage closing and/or customer service experience (or equivalent combination of education/experience) Strong PC skills (spreadsheets, word processing, email) Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills Effective decision-making and problem-solving abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Reliable, adaptable, and team-oriented

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in mortgage closing with lender, title company, or settlement agent Familiarity with mortgage systems and workflow tools Knowledge of investor guidelines, compliance, and product requirements Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. The expected base salary for this position ranges from $18.68 to $31.14/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
