Position Summary

arenaflex is seeking enthusiastic, detail‑oriented individuals to fill the role of Remote Specialty Pharmacy Customer Service Representative. In this position, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients who rely on specialty drugs for life‑supporting therapies. Working from the comfort of your home, you will manage new and refill prescription requests, verify benefits, collect copays, and coordinate with insurance carriers, healthcare providers, and internal teams to resolve any clinical or financial issues that arise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide courteous, empathetic phone support to patients navigating specialty medication processes.
  • Receive, verify, and process new and refill specialty drug orders, ensuring all required documentation is complete.
  • Confirm patient eligibility and benefits, collect and process copayment information, and obtain prior authorizations as needed.
  • Collaborate with insurance carriers, pharmacies, prescribers, and internal arenaflex departments to troubleshoot and resolve order discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records in the arenaflex pharmacy management system, documenting all interactions and outcomes.
  • Escalate complex clinical or financial issues to senior specialists while following established escalation protocols.
  • Adhere to all regulatory, compliance, and privacy standards, including HIPAA, while handling sensitive patient information.
  • Continuously update product knowledge and stay informed about changes in specialty drug therapies, insurance policies, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (any field).
  • Licensure: Active Illinois Pharmacy Specialist License or willingness to apply for one within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year in a customer service role handling high‑volume, complex inquiries via telephone.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Windows‑based applications, including Microsoft Office, web browsers, and email platforms.
  • Typing Ability: At least one (1) year of computer keyboarding experience with demonstrated speed and accuracy.
