Role Overview – IT Business Analyst (Remote)

We are seeking a highly motivated IT Business Analyst to join arenaflex’s IT Offices Group on a remote basis. This role blends data‑entry expertise with deep technical insight, supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of critical infrastructure that powers our airport communication rooms, server farms, and fiber‑optic networks. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams, ensuring that our infrastructure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of reliability and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert IT administration for all site deployments, inventories, and infrastructure configurations across remote communication rooms and server farms.
  • Coordinate with internal application and development teams to provision workstations, equipment, and access for testing and validation activities.
  • Lead remote coordination with third‑party service providers for infrastructure support, break‑fix operations, and preventive maintenance.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of physical infrastructure projects, including space, power, cooling, and rack‑level IT systems.
  • Maintain and enhance the fiber‑ring that connects the Atlanta airport and surrounding ground offices, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Develop, document, and enforce departmental policies, procedures, and standards that align with corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage capital improvement projects for server farms and remote communication rooms, from concept through design, procurement, and implementation.
  • Conduct vendor selection, negotiate contracts, and ensure vendors meet contractual obligations while delivering cost‑effective solutions.
  • Provide proactive and reactive support for security tickets, hardware incidents, and infrastructure outages, prioritizing rapid resolution and minimal impact.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, change control logs, and audit trails to support continuous improvement and compliance audits.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to forecast lifecycle replacements for airport infrastructure assets, ensuring budget alignment and strategic planning.
  • Balance multiple priorities, adapt to shifting schedules, and be on-call for emergency situations that may arise outside standard business hours.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in IT infrastructure environments, preferably within high‑availability communication rooms or server farms.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, including budgeting, vendor coordination, and stakeholder communication.
  • Strong knowledge of server hardware, networking (including fiber optics), UPS systems, HVAC, and fire protection systems.
  • Proficiency in data entry, documentation, and reporting tools; ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate records.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of building effective relationships across technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Commitment to safety, security, and data privacy best practices.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Four‑year degree in a technical discipline or 5+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks such as ITIL.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project, Asana) and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
  • Hands‑on experience with server virtualization, cloud platforms, and data center automation.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or PMP are a plus.
  • Ability to interpret technical schematics, floor plans, and capacity planning documents.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving mindset with a focus on proactive risk mitigation.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex technical problems and translate them into actionable business solutions.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills to manage timelines, resources, and deliverables across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Vendor Management: Negotiation and relationship‑building expertise to secure best‑value contracts and ensure service level compliance.
  • Communication: Clear articulation of technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders, and effective documentation of processes.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to work across different time zones, respond to urgent incidents, and adjust priorities as business needs evolve.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work independently while also contributing to a cohesive, remote‑first team environment.
  • Safety & Compliance: Commitment to maintaining rigorous safety standards and adhering to regulatory requirements.
