In this role, you will design, build, and maintain data pipelines that ingest, transform, and serve advertising‑related data across the organization. You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, engineers, and product managers to ensure that high‑quality, reliable data is available for analytics, reporting, and machine‑learning models that drive our ad products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, implement, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and modern cloud‑based data services.
  • Data Modeling & Architecture: Create and maintain robust data models that support advertising inventory, targeting, measurement, and attribution workflows.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Develop automated testing, validation, and monitoring frameworks to guarantee data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with advertising analysts, product owners, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Performance Tuning: Identify bottlenecks, optimize query performance, and ensure cost‑effective data processing at scale.
  • Documentation & Governance: Maintain clear documentation of data pipelines, schemas, and data lineage to support governance and compliance initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Advocate for best practices in data engineering, code quality, and operational excellence.
  • Support Analytics & ML Initiatives: Enable data scientists and analysts to access clean, well‑structured data for reporting, dashboards, and predictive modeling.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 2+ years of hands‑on experience building data pipelines in a production environment.
  • Proficiency with SQL and a programming language such as Python or Java for data manipulation.
  • Experience with distributed processing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Pig) and data warehousing solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, relational and columnar storage, and data partitioning strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large, complex datasets while maintaining data integrity and security.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details into business‑focused language.
  • Self‑starter attitude, comfortable working independently and thriving in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with advertising data domains, including ad inventory, targeting, measurement, or programmatic workflows.
  • Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, and other data‑privacy regulations as they apply to advertising data.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse).
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) and the ability to support analytics teams.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and automated testing frameworks.
  • Prior work in a collaborative, cross‑functional team environment within a technology‑driven organization.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to dissect complex data problems, identify root causes, and propose elegant solutions.
  • Problem‑Solving: Comfortable troubleshooting data anomalies, performance issues, and integration challenges.
  • Collaboration: Strong team player who builds constructive relationships with data scientists, product managers, and engineers.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data quality, documentation, and compliance.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in an environment where priorities shift quickly and new technologies emerge regularly.
  • Code Quality: Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code.
