Why This Role Matters

The Pharmacy Customer Service Associate is the front‑line ambassador for arenaflex’s pharmacy services. You will ensure that every customer receives safe, accurate, and friendly assistance, whether they are picking up a prescription, seeking health advice, or exploring our retail offerings. Your role directly impacts patient safety, satisfaction, and the overall reputation of arenaflex’s health services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Interaction: Greet customers warmly, assess their needs, and provide clear guidance on prescription pick‑up, medication counseling, and over‑the‑counter product selection.
  • Prescription Processing: Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, enter patient and medication data into the pharmacy system, verify prescription details, and prepare medications using accurate counting, measuring, and labeling techniques.
  • Cash Handling & Checkout: Operate the point‑of‑sale (POS) register, process cash, credit, and electronic transactions, issue receipts, and manage refunds, voids, and exchanges in compliance with arenaflex policies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to state and federal pharmacy regulations, including controlled substance handling, privacy (HIPAA) standards, and arenaflex’s Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
  • Inventory Management: Receive, unpack, and stock pharmaceutical and retail merchandise; conduct regular cycle counts, monitor expiration dates, and execute first‑in‑first‑out (FIFO) rotation.
  • Third‑Party Claims: Accurately submit and correct insurance claims for prescription benefits, following up on rejections and ensuring timely reimbursement.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and store associates to maintain a smooth workflow, assist with scheduling, and cover peak‑hour demands.
  • Visual Merchandising: Build and refresh promotional displays, seasonal signage, and point‑of‑sale materials to drive product awareness and sales.
  • Digital Photo Services: Provide assistance at the photo center, including printing, photo‑book creation, and upselling related products.
  • Online Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and deliver in‑store pickup orders (e.g., Photo Plus), ensuring accuracy and timely customer notification.
  • Store Maintenance: Keep the pharmacy and retail areas clean, organized, and safe for both customers and staff.
  • Continuous Learning: Participate in ongoing training, certification programs, and professional development initiatives to stay current with pharmacy best practices and industry trends.
  • Special Projects: Undertake ad‑hoc assignments such as audit preparation, process improvement initiatives, and community outreach events as directed by management.
