Key Responsibilities

  • Prescription Processing: Retrieve, count, and pour medication tablets, verify dosage accuracy, and check for potential drug interactions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Customer Interaction: Greet patients warmly, answer product‑related questions, and resolve inquiries to create a seamless and pleasant experience.
  • Cash Handling & Transaction Support: Manage cash register duties, process over‑the‑counter (OTC) sales, and reconcile daily transactions with precision.
  • Phone Triage: Field non‑clinical calls, including physician inquiries, and route them appropriately while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with ordering, receiving, and stocking prescription medications; document discrepancies such as overages, shortages, or damaged goods.
  • Clinical Support: Help collect and label lab specimens (blood, urine) and coordinate with arenaflex health clinics and external vendors when needed.
  • Community Outreach: Support pharmacy staff in building relationships with local health providers, senior living facilities, and community organizations to expand arenaflex’s health‑care footprint.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Follow arenaflex Pharmacy Code of Conduct, report prescription errors immediately, and adhere to all safety and quality protocols.
  • Continuous Learning: Participate in the arenaflex Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship curriculum, complete required training modules, and earn up to eight college credit hours recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE).

Essential Qualifications

  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (excluding Puerto Rico locations).
  • High school diploma or GED; additional education in health‑care or related fields is a plus.
  • Basic math proficiency for accurate medication counting, measuring, and weighing.
  • Strong computer literacy; comfortable navigating pharmacy software, spreadsheets, and email platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Six months or more of retail experience, preferably in a pharmacy or health‑care setting.
