Why This Role Matters

The Senior Director, Global Head of Adversarial Abuse & Analytics sits at the heart of arenaflex’s Trust & Safety organization. In this pivotal position, you will lead a multidisciplinary team that detects, investigates, and mitigates malicious activity—from account takeovers and spam to coordinated misinformation campaigns. Your work will directly protect creators, viewers, and advertisers, ensuring that arenaflex remains a safe haven for expression and commerce. This is a unique opportunity to shape policy, influence product development, and drive data‑driven strategies that safeguard a platform used by millions every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy: Direct the Global Adversarial Abuse team, setting vision, goals, and performance metrics that align with arenaflex’s broader Trust & Safety objectives.
  • Threat Detection & Mitigation: Oversee the identification and remediation of high‑risk behaviors such as account hijacking, fraudulent engagement, spam, and coordinated inauthentic activity.
  • Data‑Driven Insight: Guide the Business Analytics group in building dashboards, predictive models, and actionable reports that surface emerging abuse patterns and inform executive decision‑making.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, Policy, and Global Operations teams to design and launch tools that leverage account, content, and social signals for real‑time abuse detection.
  • Rapid Incident Response: Lead time‑critical projects that require swift turnaround, ensuring that new threats are addressed before they can cause widespread harm.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Produce clear, concise transparency reports for internal leadership and external regulators, articulating the impact of abuse mitigation efforts worldwide.
  • Talent Development: Recruit, mentor, and retain top talent, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and high performance across a 24/7 global team.
  • Policy Influence: Work closely with the Policy team to translate analytical findings into robust, enforceable community guidelines and enforcement mechanisms.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience leading risk‑mitigation initiatives at scale, preferably in a high‑growth internet or media environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building and managing data pipelines, analytics platforms, and machine‑learning models that support abuse detection.
  • Proven ability to operate in fast‑paced, ambiguous settings, delivering results while balancing short‑term urgency with long‑term strategic goals.
  • Strong business acumen with the capacity to translate complex data insights into actionable product and policy recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, capable of building relationships with cross‑functional partners across different time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience analyzing large‑scale datasets to uncover anomalies, fraud patterns, or coordinated inauthentic behavior.
  • Familiarity with adversarial abuse domains, including spam, phishing, bot networks, and misinformation campaigns.
  • Technical proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or MATLAB for data extraction, manipulation, and statistical analysis.
  • Track record of publishing or presenting research on abuse detection, content moderation, or related topics at industry conferences.
  • Demonstrated leadership in building high‑performing, distributed teams that thrive in a remote‑first environment.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex problems, identify root causes, and develop data‑driven solutions.
  • Strategic Vision: Capacity to anticipate emerging threats (e.g., generative AI misuse) and proactively shape defensive strategies.
  • Technical Literacy: Comfortable discussing machine‑learning concepts, data architecture, and API integrations with engineering teams.
  • Collaboration: Skilled at influencing without authority, aligning diverse stakeholders around common objectives.
  • Communication: Clear, concise writing for executive briefings, transparency reports, and cross‑team documentation.
