Position Overview
As a Remote Customer Support Pharmacist at arenaflex, you will be responsible for executing clinical pharmacy services, driving patient safety outcomes, and implementing strategic pharmacy programs that improve health results while strengthening financial performance. You will serve as a trusted expert, educator, and resource for both patients and fellow pharmacists, ensuring every interaction reflects the highest standards of integrity, accuracy, and care.
This full-time role offers a competitive hourly rate of $25/hour, standard 8-hour work shifts, and the flexibility of a remote work environment. You will be based in Illinois and will occasionally support cross-state initiatives, with up to 10% travel required for business purposes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care programs including Drug Treatment Management, Vaccination Services, and Payer/Pharma Adherence and Clinical Programs, ensuring all initiatives align with arenaflex’s mission of patient-first care.
- Drive the execution of multiple business strategies and projects to meet organizational objectives while maintaining focus on clinical excellence and patient safety.
- Champion continuous quality improvement in the delivery of clinical pharmacy services by analyzing outcomes, redesigning processes, monitoring results, and implementing meaningful changes.
- Ensure regional pharmacies comply with regulatory requirements, standard operating procedures, and FDA guidelines, maintaining unwavering commitment to legal and ethical standards.
- Drive regional pharmacy financial performance by aligning business strategies with organizational financial goals, executing patient intervention programs to maximize reimbursement and improve outcomes.
- Support efforts to enhance patient experience by emphasizing healthcare services such as patient consultation, medication management, drug therapy reviews, retail and clinical services, vaccinations, disease state management, and specialty programs.
- Provide expertise, resources, training, and support to pharmacists and field leadership, promoting staff development and continuous learning opportunities.
- Foster teamwork and inspire pharmacy staff by cultivating a shared vision and reinforcing company policies, systems, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
- Conduct data and clinical reviews, taking corrective action to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of all medications dispensed.
- Review drug regimens and patient profiles to confirm safe, effective medication therapy, providing individualized patient and provider consultation as needed.
- Build patient trust through superior communication skills, active listening, and a compassionate approach to pharmacy concerns.
- Provide feedback on the effectiveness of the Client Retention Program, including patient comments on the value of individual consultations.
- Address all inquiries, transactions, and issues directly related to patient treatment with professionalism and empathy.
- Offer clinical consultation and expertise to patients, physicians, and insurance plans as required.
- Perform additional duties consistent with the role as assigned by management.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including HIPAA guidelines and federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
Essential Qualifications
- Current pharmacist license in good standing, granted by the appropriate state licensing authority.
- Demonstrated experience advancing team members to research and resolve clinical and operational issues.
- Experience working with confidential information while maintaining strict compliance with privacy standards.
- Willingness and ability to work non-standard hours, including nights, holidays, and weekends, as business needs require.
- Strong time management skills, including the ability to prioritize, organize, and meet deadlines across multiple projects with varying completion dates.
- Self-motivated with experience achieving goals with minimal supervision, including knowing when to escalate issues appropriately.
- Proven experience delivering high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders, with a focus on satisfaction and continuous improvement.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes, both within and outside of Illinois.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to obtain additional state pharmacy licenses as required to support multi-state operations.
- Working knowledge of insurance plans and pharmacy benefit management.
- Proficiency in pharmacy operating systems, including Radio, Commitment, and Plus.
- Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including creating workbooks, formatting cells, using formulas, inserting charts, and printing worksheets.
- Basic to intermediate Microsoft PowerPoint skills, including creating and editing presentations, managing slides, and running slide shows.
- Basic to intermediate Microsoft Word skills, including document formatting, editing, and using features such as track changes and spell check.
