arenaflex is a global leader in creating immersive, data‑powered experiences that delight millions of users every day. With a heritage rooted in storytelling and cutting‑edge technology, arenaflex blends creativity with analytics to transform raw data into actionable insights that drive business growth. Our Advanced Analytics & Optimization (AAO) team sits at the heart of this transformation, delivering scalable data platforms, sophisticated analytics solutions, and innovative data products that power everything from consumer‑facing applications to internal decision‑making engines. As a remote‑first organization, arenaflex empowers talent worldwide to collaborate, innovate, and shape the future of data‑driven entertainment.

Position Overview – Senior Data Optimization Analyst (Remote)

arenaflex is seeking a highly motivated Senior Data Optimization Analyst to join the AAO ecosystem. In this role, you will partner with cross‑functional AAO squads to design, implement, and maintain core data capabilities and solutions that can be leveraged across the AAO domain and other internal CIMA (Corporate Information Management & Analytics) groups. You will ensure that data and technology are delivered to partners in a timely, reliable, and scalable manner, while also serving as a key steward of the AAO analytics platform environment and the delivery pipeline for AAO analytical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expand Data Ingestion Footprint: Identify, onboard, and integrate new data assets and consumer‑product data sources in alignment with the AAO data roadmap, ensuring comprehensive coverage and high‑quality ingestion.
  • Develop Object‑Level Automation Policies: Create automated rules to detect and remediate data quality anomalies, enabling lineage tracking and validation from ingestion through delivery.
  • Design End‑to‑End Data Mapping: Build robust data mapping for brand‑new data tables, coordinate hand‑offs to the development team for code review, and oversee production deployment.
  • Implement Scalable ETL Pipelines: Architect and deploy ETL processes for internal DPEP (Data Platform Engineering & Production) business data, supporting downstream modeling and reporting workloads.
  • Support Source Data Ingestion Governance: Provide guidance on source data ingestion best practices, schedule batch processes, and enforce governance standards.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, product owners, and business analysts to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Maintain Platform Health: Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve the reliability and efficiency of the AAO analytics platform.
  • Champion Agile Delivery: Participate in Scrum ceremonies, contribute to sprint planning, and help drive iterative delivery of data solutions.
  • Document and Share Knowledge: Produce clear documentation, data dictionaries, and training materials to enable self‑service analytics across the organization.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics, or a related field.
  • Hands‑on experience building and deploying cloud‑native environments, preferably on AWS and/or Snowflake (1‑3 years).
  • Proficiency with ETL tool design and data infrastructure technologies, including Python, R, Java, and SQL.
  • Advanced SQL expertise with a track record of developing complex queries and performance tuning (2+ years).
  • Programming experience in Python or R (1‑3 years).
  • Demonstrated experience in data architecture, data warehousing, advanced analytics, or data science implementations such as data modeling and data cataloging.
  • Data modeling experience using ERWin or other enterprise‑grade data modeling tools (2+ years).
  • Data cataloging experience with tools like Informatica Metadata Manager, Alation, or comparable solutions (2+ years).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analytics into clear business narratives for senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications & Differentiators

  • 3+ years of professional experience, demonstrating deeper expertise and leadership potential.
  • Prior experience within a media company or analytics consulting firm, providing context on fast‑paced, content‑driven data environments.
  • End‑to‑end product and delivery experience across all layers of data solutions—from source ingestion to downstream consumption.
  • Proven ability to integrate technology components into a cohesive solution architecture that meets evolving business requirements.
  • Experience delivering in‑team environments using Agile frameworks, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), continuous integration (CI), and related DevOps tooling.
  • Demonstrated unit testing and integration testing capabilities, ensuring high‑quality releases.

Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, or a related quantitative discipline.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to dissect complex data problems, identify root causes, and propose data‑driven solutions.
  • Technical Acumen: Mastery of cloud platforms, data warehousing, ETL pipelines, and programming languages.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork orientation, comfortable working with diverse stakeholders across business and technology.
  • Communication: Clear articulation of technical concepts to non‑technical audiences, creating compelling presentations and reports.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑changing environment, quickly learning new tools and methodologies.
  • Quality Focus: Commitment to testing, documentation, and best practices to ensure data integrity and platform stability.
