Why This Role Matters

In today’s rapidly evolving health‑care environment, accurate data entry and rigorous compliance monitoring are critical to safeguarding patient safety and maintaining regulatory standards. As a Remote Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex, you will be at the heart of the prescriber assessment process, ensuring that prescription data is meticulously reviewed, organized, and communicated to internal and external stakeholders. Your work will directly support the integrity of the pharmacy network, help prevent misuse of controlled substances, and contribute to the broader mission of delivering safe, reliable health‑care services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and organize Prescriber Evaluation Referral Forms (PERF) and compile both internal and external prescribing data within strict timelines.
  • Create, validate, and release communications through the COMPASS and RHM platforms to keep pharmacy teams informed of compliance updates.
  • Generate ad‑hoc reports for the prescriber assessment team and present findings to the Integrity and Patient Safety groups.
  • Assist the Good Faith Dispensing (GFD) coverage administration by tracking and documenting dispensing activities.
  • Research and analyze managed‑substance orders at the store level, identifying suspicious patterns based on ordering behavior and contextual factors.
  • Prepare detailed reports for DEA investigators, delivering store‑level, prescriber, and patient profiles within a 48‑hour turnaround.
  • Develop and execute custom queries to extract data beyond standard reporting requirements, supporting investigative and compliance initiatives.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of managed‑substance ordering policies, GFD guidelines, and DEA licensing regulations; serve as a point of contact for stores and compliance leadership via email and phone.
  • Collaborate with analysts to design and review store audits for managed‑substance loss, ensuring accurate loss reporting within required timeframes.
  • Manage the prescriber price‑tag decision tool, validating and updating prescriber information in partnership with pharmacists to confirm legitimate prescription blocks.
  • Research and assess requests for increases to managed‑substance allocations, making informed decisions in coordination with pharmacy managers, supervisors, and vendors.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing refinement of Good Faith Dispensing policies, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Utilize advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and database querying skills to assist analysts in developing presentations and training materials for store staff and leadership.

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; minimum three years of experience as a pharmacy technician.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience with prescriber licensing requirements, including NPI, DEA, and state licenses.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Hands‑on experience querying databases and extracting actionable insights.
  • Strong analytical ability to read, interpret, and report data, identifying trends, exceptions, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, tailored to diverse audiences ranging from frontline staff to senior compliance leaders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with arenaflex internal systems such as SIMS and IC+.
  • Experience with arenaflex managed‑substance ordering platforms, including PDQ, RxQuick Order, and Passport.
  • Prior exposure to remote work environments and self‑directed task management.
  • Knowledge of DEA regulations and Good Faith Dispensing best practices.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to spot discrepancies in large data sets and ensure absolute accuracy in reporting.
  • Regulatory Acumen: Understanding of federal and state pharmacy regulations, especially those governing controlled substances.
  • Analytical Thinking: Capacity to translate raw data into meaningful insights that drive compliance actions.
  • Collaboration: Proven track record of working cross‑functionally with pharmacists, managers, analysts, and external agencies.

  • Time Management: Ability to meet tight deadlines (e.g., 48‑hour reporting windows) while juggling multiple priorities.
  • Customer‑Focused Mindset: Commitment to supporting store teams and ensuring patient safety through accurate data handling.
