Position Overview

The Director of Data Science & Analytics at arenaflex will serve as a senior leader responsible for shaping the organization's product and technology roadmaps through rigorous data-driven insight. You will lead the analytics function that supports every major data science initiative across arenaflex, while cultivating a culture of experimentation, statistical thinking, and evidence-based decision-making. Reporting to senior leadership, you will be a trusted partner to product, engineering, marketing, operations, and finance teams — and a frequent collaborator with C-level executives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and Develop a High-Performing Analytics Organization: Build, mentor, and scale a world-class team of data scientists, analysts, and experimentation specialists. Recruit top-tier talent, provide coaching and professional development, and define team goals and objectives aligned with arenaflex's broader strategic direction.
• Drive Experimentation Culture and Capabilities: Champion a culture of rigorous testing, hypothesis-driven analysis, and continuous learning. Establish and evolve frameworks for A/B testing, multivariate experimentation, causal inference, and causal impact measurement across product, marketing, and customer engagement initiatives.
• Define and Operationalize KPIs: Identify, design, and implement key performance indicators that measure the effectiveness of product features, marketing campaigns, customer engagement strategies, and operational programs. Ensure KPIs are tightly linked to business outcomes and are visible across the organization.
• Deliver Actionable Insights at Scale: Apply advanced analytics techniques — including statistical modeling, predictive analytics, machine learning, and data mining — to extract meaningful, actionable insights from large, complex datasets. Use these insights to influence product development, marketing strategy, and design optimization.
• Partner Cross-Functionally with Senior Stakeholders: Work in close partnership with leaders in Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and Finance. Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical approaches and deliver findings that drive measurable business outcomes.
• Influence Executive Decision-Making: Prepare and present compelling narratives, dashboards, and recommendations to C-level leaders and the executive board. Contribute to strategic discussions with depth, clarity, and intellectual honesty.
• Identify Opportunities for Product and Operational Improvement: Continuously scan the business for opportunities to enhance product performance, marketing ROI, customer experience, and operational efficiency through data, automation, and emerging technologies.
• Stay Ahead of Industry Trends: Monitor developments in data science, machine learning, experimentation platforms, and analytics tooling. Evaluate and recommend new technologies, methodologies, and best practices that can elevate arenaflex's analytical maturity.

Essential Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field. A Master's degree or PhD is strongly preferred.
• Industry Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in data science, analytics, or related quantitative disciplines, with at least 3+ years leading product, customer, and experimentation analytics functions within global, top-tier technology companies — preferably in e-commerce, retail, or consumer-facing industries.
• Leadership Experience: 3+ years in a management role building, leading, and scaling high-performing data science and analytics teams. Demonstrated success in hiring, developing, and retaining exceptional talent.
• Proven Impact: Track record of delivering insights that have driven measurable business results, informed product strategy, and enabled continuous improvement through data-driven methodologies and experimentation.
• Technical Proficiency: Deep expertise in statistical modeling, experimental design, and data visualization. Hands-on proficiency with tools such as Python, R or SAS, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and modern experimentation platforms.
• Executive Communication: Prior experience presenting to and engaging in substantive discussions with C-level executives and board members. Ability to distill complex analytical concepts into clear, compelling narratives tailored to executive audiences.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and Finance — building trusted partnerships and influencing without direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing and scaling experimentation programs in large, high-traffic consumer environments.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks.
• Background in machine learning, causal inference, or advanced econometric modeling.
• Experience leading analytics transformations or establishing new analytical functions from the ground up.
• Published research, speaking engagements, or thought leadership in data science, experimentation, or analytics.
