As a data‑driven organization, we are constantly exploring new ways to monetize health information responsibly, create actionable insights for pharmaceutical manufacturers, payers, and health systems, and drive sustainable growth for the business.

Position Overview – Why This Role Matters

The Senior Director of Healthcare Data Management & Data Monetization will serve as the strategic and operational leader for arenaflex’s data‑centric initiatives. Reporting to senior leadership, you will partner with cross‑functional teams—including Pharmacy, Retail, Specialty Pharmacy, IT, and external partners—to design, launch, and scale data products that unlock new revenue streams while maintaining the highest standards of data governance, compliance, and patient privacy. This is a remote‑first role with occasional travel (up to 20 % of the time) to support key business engagements, partner meetings, and on‑site collaborations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Product Development

  • Define and execute a multi‑year data monetization roadmap aligned with arenaflex’s corporate objectives and market opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders—Pharmacy Services, Store Operations, Specialty Pharmacy, and the Retail Strategy team—to enhance existing data products and identify new offerings.
  • Lead the creation of data governance and compliance frameworks, ensuring all data initiatives meet contractual obligations, regulatory standards, and internal policies.
  • Serve as the subject‑matter expert (SME) for data products, guiding the development of analytics solutions that deliver actionable insights to pharmaceutical manufacturers, payers, and health system partners.
  • Participate in RFP responses, Statements of Work (SOW) development, and contract negotiations as the data SME, translating technical capabilities into business value.

Operational Excellence & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Manage the operational capabilities of the Data Management team, overseeing project delivery, resource allocation, and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate with IT, legal, compliance, and external vendors to implement data pipelines, analytics platforms, and secure data exchange mechanisms.
  • Drive continuous improvement of data quality, lineage, and stewardship practices across the organization.
  • Support enterprise customers by providing expert guidance on data product usage, integration, and optimization.
  • Lead internal audits and regulatory reviews, ensuring data handling processes are fully documented and auditable.

Team Development & Culture Building

  • Mentor, coach, and develop a high‑performing team of data analysts, engineers, and product managers through structured onboarding, training, and performance management.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and accountability, encouraging innovative thinking while maintaining rigorous standards.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team and across arenaxflex’s broader data community.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Informatics, Data Science, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, MS) is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience delivering data‑centric products or services in a healthcare or pharmaceutical environment.
  • At least 4 years of experience designing, documenting, and implementing data contracts of financial or operational significance.
  • Minimum 3 years leading cross‑functional initiatives that span multiple business units, securing consensus and accountability for project outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to develop strategies that meet business goals within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Proven track record of diagnosing operational challenges and implementing data‑driven solutions that improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Experience in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and tools (JIRA, MS Project, Smartsheet).
  • Strong background in analytics for specialty pharmacy offerings and familiarity with contract analytics.
  • At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions and forecasting within a corporate setting.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct people management, matrix management, or functional team leadership.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20 % of the time for business purposes, both domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Health Data Analyst, PMP, CPHIMS).
  • Hands‑on experience with data platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, Azure Synapse, or Google BigQuery.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and statistical languages (Python, R, SAS).
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, GDPR, and other health‑related data privacy regulations.
  • Experience negotiating and managing data licensing agreements with pharmaceutical manufacturers, payers, or health systems.
  • Strong communication skills—ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business narratives for senior executives and external partners.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership through publications, conference presentations, or industry forums.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Strategic Vision: Ability to see the big picture, anticipate market trends, and position arenaflex’s data assets for long‑term growth.
  • Analytical Rigor: Deep analytical mindset with a data‑first approach to problem‑solving.
  • Collaboration: Skilled at building relationships across functional silos, fostering trust, and driving consensus.
  • Leadership: Inspiring leader who can motivate teams, develop talent, and champion a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Customer‑Centricity: Commitment to delivering value to internal and external customers through reliable, high‑quality data products.
