[Remote] Payroll Specialist (East Coast)

They are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support global payroll operations, ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing while collaborating with HR and Finance teams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review payroll-related journal entries across multiple countries
  • Perform account reconciliations and ensure proper accounting treatment of payroll transactions
  • Support internal controls and compliance with company accounting policies
  • Partner with Accounting and Finance to ensure accurate reporting and audit readiness
  • Process and support end-to-end global payroll operations using ADP Streamline / ADP Celergo
  • Ensure accurate salary calculations, variable compensation payments, and employee deductions
  • Partner with ADP and HR to ensure compliance with country-specific tax regulations, social contributions, benefits, and statutory requirements
  • Maintain strong relationships with global payroll vendors and stay current on local regulatory updates
  • Review and ensure timely completion of quarterly and annual filings, statutory payments, and required government submissions
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, providing timely and professional support
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
  • Review and validate integrations between HRIS and payroll systems to ensure data integrity
  • Identify and resolve system discrepancies in partnership with internal teams and vendors
  • Participate in automation initiatives and continuous process improvement efforts
  • Contribute ideas to enhance efficiency, controls, and overall payroll operations
  • Partner closely with HR, Finance, Accounting, and global business stakeholders
  • Communicate proactively with leadership regarding risks, compliance matters, or process gaps
  • Maintain a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset when working across regions and time zones

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 0–2 years of accounting experience
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, global environment
  • Experience with global payroll environments preferred
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems is a plus
