Position Overview – Ramp Agent (Remote)

We are seeking enthusiastic, detail‑oriented individuals to join our Ground Operations team as Ramp Agents. In this role, you will be the backbone of our on‑ground processes, ensuring that aircraft are serviced, cargo is handled safely, and the overall ramp environment runs smoothly—all while working from a remote location that supports flexible scheduling.

Why This Role Is Critical

Every flight’s on‑time performance, safety, and passenger satisfaction begins on the ramp. As a Ramp Agent, you will:

  • Coordinate the movement of aircraft, baggage, cargo, and equipment.
  • Maintain strict safety standards and compliance with aviation regulations.
  • Provide exceptional service to internal teams and external partners.
  • Contribute to arenaflex’s mission of delivering friendly, reliable, and affordable travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Interaction: Deliver courteous assistance to passengers, freight customers, and internal stakeholders, fostering positive relationships at every touchpoint.
  • Aircraft Service Coordination: Load, unload, and position baggage, cargo, mail, and equipment according to established procedures and flight schedules.
  • Documentation & Tracking: Accurately record and submit cargo handling slips, freight container logs, and other required paperwork, both electronically and physically.
  • Safety & Security: Protect cargo, mail, and equipment from weather, theft, damage, or loss; follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to vehicle operation guidelines.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate ground support equipment such as belt loaders, push‑back tractors, lift trucks, and de‑icing vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Facility Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning of aircraft interiors, lavatories, and cargo compartments; manage waste disposal and replenish supplies as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other ground‑crew teams, flight crews, and airport partners to ensure seamless handoffs and on‑time departures.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve discrepancies in cargo handling, equipment malfunctions, or scheduling conflicts quickly and proactively.
  • Physical Tasks: Lift and move items up to 70 lb, climb stairs, bend, twist, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
  • Compliance: Follow all FAA regulations, arenaflex policies, and local airport rules; maintain up‑to‑date certifications and permits.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • U.S. citizenship or authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) identification badge.
  • Ability to pass a background check and meet all security clearance requirements.
  • Physical ability to lift 70 lb, climb stairs, and perform repetitive motions for long periods.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in airline ground handling, logistics, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with airport operations, cargo handling procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Certification in equipment operation (e.g., forklift, belt loader) or willingness to obtain training.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and data entry.
  • Problem‑solving mindset with a track record of handling unexpected situations calmly.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Team Collaboration: Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and external partners while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Attention to Detail: Precise handling of cargo documentation and equipment operation to avoid errors.
  • Safety Focus: Commitment to following safety protocols and protecting yourself and others.
  • Adaptability: Comfort working in dynamic environments with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Delivering courteous, helpful service to passengers and freight customers.
  • Physical Stamina: Endurance for prolonged standing, lifting, and movement in various weather conditions.

  • Clear pathways to advance into supervisory, logistics, or airport‑management roles.
  • Opportunities to cross‑train in related areas such as cargo handling, flight‑deck coordination, or customer service leadership.
  • Tuition reimbursement and support for further education in aviation management or related fields.
