Our headquarters are located in Oklahoma City, but we embrace a flexible, remote‑first work model that enables talent from across the United States to contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional customer experiences and industry‑leading data services.

Why This Role Matters

In today’s data‑driven world, the reliability, scalability, and security of storage infrastructure are critical to business continuity. As an Enterprise Data Storage Administrator at arenaflex, you will be the guardian of our enterprise‑class storage environments, ensuring that data is always available, protected, and optimized for performance. Your expertise will directly influence the efficiency of our applications, the speed of our analytics, and the resilience of our disaster‑recovery strategies.

Position Overview

This full‑time, remote position offers a competitive hourly rate of $24 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package. You will report to the Senior Director of Infrastructure and collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including application development, database administration, server engineering, and security—to design, implement, and maintain robust storage solutions that meet the evolving needs of arenaxflex’s business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Storage Architecture: Design, deploy, and manage enterprise‑grade storage systems (SAN, NAS, and DAS) aligned with industry best practices and arenaxflex’s long‑term technology roadmap.
  • Capacity Planning & Optimization: Conduct ongoing capacity assessments, forecast growth trends, and implement proactive measures to prevent bottlenecks and ensure optimal utilization of storage resources.
  • Data Protection & Security: Implement and maintain data encryption, snapshot, replication, and backup solutions; regularly apply security patches and perform vulnerability assessments to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Cross‑Team Collaboration: Partner with application, database, server, and security teams to define storage requirements, resolve performance issues, and support new project initiatives.
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripts to automate routine storage administration tasks, reducing manual effort and minimizing human error.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Produce clear, concise documentation for standard operating procedures, configuration baselines, and incident response plans; mentor junior staff on storage concepts and best practices.
  • Incident Management & Troubleshooting: Lead root‑cause analysis for storage‑related incidents, coordinate remediation efforts, and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of storage hardware and software, from procurement and installation to decommissioning and disposal, ensuring compliance with corporate policies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate emerging storage technologies (e.g., NVMe over Fabrics, hyper‑converged infrastructure) and recommend strategic upgrades that enhance performance and cost efficiency.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience managing enterprise storage environments, with a strong focus on systems administration and storage protocols.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing large‑scale SAN solutions, including experience with arenaxflex‑branded storage platforms (formerly known as DellEMC).
  • Proficiency with network‑attached storage concepts and protocols such as CIFS, NFS, and S3.
  • Solid understanding of data protection technologies, including snapshots, replication, and backup/recovery processes.
  • Experience administering both Linux and Windows operating systems in a mixed‑environment context.
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., arenaxflex‑branded virtualization, formerly VMWare) and their storage integration points.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a track record of independently resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing thorough documentation and presenting technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Storage Engineer (CSE), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or vendor‑specific credentials (e.g., arenaxflex Certified Storage Administrator).
  • Experience with cloud storage services (AWS S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Storage) and hybrid cloud integration.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation and orchestration.
  • Exposure to monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds) and performance analytics platforms.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, including the ability to mentor peers and influence cross‑functional teams.

Core Competencies

  • Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of storage architectures, protocols, and security frameworks.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align storage initiatives with broader business objectives and technology strategies.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with evolving technologies and willingness to continuously learn.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in configuration, documentation, and compliance activities.
