ABOUT THE ROLE As a Senior Product Designer at Samsara, you will provide critical design expertise and execution for strategic initiatives, delivering end-to-end experiences that impact customers and support key business objectives. You'll own design for a specific product area — with current focus on AI and agentic workflows and/or design systems supporting a major rebrand. WHAT YOU'LL DO Own the UX for a product area or surface, shipping high-impact designs that unlock significant customer and business value Collaborate closely with product and engineering on strategy, planning, and execution Work directly with customers to understand their needs, validate designs, and inform strategy Provide expertise and knowledge transfer to Samsara's internal design team Deliver all agreed-upon project deliverables on time and to spec MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 5+ years of product design experience designing UX/UI for web and mobile applications Strong interaction and visual design skills Portfolio and/or case studies showcasing design craft and ability to solve user problems with quantified impact — required to be considered Demonstrated proficiency with AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Figma Make) Experience prototyping in real codebases; comfort working in GitHub Proven experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments Strong cross-functional collaboration skills IDEAL CANDIDATE High craft combined with pragmatic, proactive execution Comfortable with 0→1 and early-stage work where the path isn't fully defined Self-directed and resourceful — can identify what needs to happen and move it forward without heavy structure Refined taste, strong product instincts, and a bias toward solving real customer problems elegantly Curious, hands-on, and resilient — able to zoom out strategically and zoom in to deliver polished work CONTRACT DETAILSDuration: 6 months (with conversion potential if based in a country where Samsara has legal entities) Hours: 40 hrs/week, no overtime Location: Fully remote Rate: $90-$110/hr Start: ASAP WORK LOCATION & ELIGIBILITY This is a fully remote contract role. Candidates must be based in a country where Samsara has an established legal entity.
