[Remote] Senior Account Executive, Legacy

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Mal Warwick Donordigital is an agency dedicated to supporting nonprofit organizations with innovative fundraising strategies. The Senior Account Executive, Legacy will manage direct marketing fundraising programs for a portfolio of clients, serving as the primary contact and leading strategic initiatives to enhance client relationships and campaign effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Develop client annual plans in coordination with the Senior Account Director or Vice President
  • Prepare and interpret reports/analysis that evaluate client’s planned giving marketing programs with recommendations for improvements in alignment with client goals
  • Design, implement, and evaluate segmentation strategies, to develop effective segmentation for Planned Giving direct response marketing campaigns
  • Ensure agency reporting is in alignment with client campaign strategy
  • Understand internal and industry benchmarking and trends
  • Develop year-long and multi-year planned giving marketing strategies aligned with client goals
  • Prepare and present annual plan to clients
  • Provide strategic leadership of client programs
  • Oversee implementation of client’s annual plan
  • Prepare, finalize and present strategy decks
  • Manage a cross-channel team
  • Develop concepts and messaging for integrated direct response projects
  • Work with copywriters and designers to develop program content in alignment with project and program strategy
  • Manage account and production team service delivery to the client, including problem-solving and accountability for errors
  • Liaise with client contacts to ensure their satisfaction and enhance client relationships
  • Travel to meet with clients as necessary
  • For integrated clients, coordinate with Offline and Digital teams to develop multi-channel campaigns and wrap-up decks
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of each area of agency’s client services
  • Mentor managers, coordinators, or assistants; other team members
  • Lead as a trusted subject matter expert for the agency in the area of legacy and planned giving
  • Enhance company’s brand by attending events, publishing white papers/blog posts, speaking at workshops and networking with influencers in the industry
  • Keep up to date on changes in the legacy industry and practices
  • Participate in new business proposals and presentations when requested

Skills

  • Minimum years of experience required: 9 years in nonprofit fundraising and/or advocacy, with at least 4 to 6 years in nonprofit planned giving fundraising and marketing
  • Direct marketing, especially fundraising and/or advocacy
  • Knowledge base of planned giving concepts and marketing techniques
  • Experience in strategic and production management of direct marketing projects
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated effective use of digital tools to manage internal and external workflow and communication (including email, chat, virtual meetings, and online workflow tool)
  • Communication: Facilitates effective and lively discussion, presenting compelling arguments to large and cross-functional teams
  • Writing/Editing Skills: Translates a wide variety of information into developed, clear, and structured messaging (e.g., strategies, memos, proposals, instructions, external-facing documents, etc.)
  • Attention to Detail: Creates, refines, and enforces high level of standards, promoting team adherence and ensuring consistency
  • Leadership & Accountability: Demonstrated management and supervisorial skills, fostering accountability, aligning goals, setting expectations, and encouraging top performance of individuals and/or small teams
  • Collaboration: Leads high-performing teams by setting clear expectations, inspiring others, motivating towards shared outcomes, and ensuring alignment of vision and successful results

  • Interest in progressive issues, including environmental protection and conservation, international aid and development, social justice, anti-racism and anti-oppression, women's rights, LGBTQIA+ issues, electoral politics, etc
  • Willingness to travel
  • Donor facing experience in Planned giving fundraising experience helpful/preferred
  • Multi-client experience and digital marketing experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with or curiosity for exploring the ethical use of AI tools and agents
