[Remote] Senior IT - Cognos Administrator

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. iFlow Inc. is seeking a Senior IT - Cognos Administrator to manage the installation, configuration, and administration of reporting and analytical solutions. The role involves supporting Cognos environments, providing on-call support, and ensuring the stability and performance of BI applications.

Responsibilities

• The Advanced Analytics Cognos Administrator is responsible for the Installation configuration, administration, developer support, and on-call support of the reporting and analytical solutions for the business community
• The Cognos Administrator is responsible for support and upgrade environments to Cognos v11 and for internal customer (reporting developers) facing activities of proposing solutions, and validating that these solutions meet the needs of the business
• The Cognos Administrator must have strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
• The team member will have exposure to tool administration, installation, configuration, code deployment, security administration, data analysis, querying and troubleshooting
• The job entails working with all aspects of Cognos in a Data Warehouse and Operational Data Store environment interacting with business units and enabling groups
• Administrate the BI applications
• Provide a stable production environment that meets performance needs and make adjustments as needed
• Resolve production issues in a timely manner including on-call support as needed and maintain audit/security
• Working with other internal and external resources, plan and manage BI system implementations and upgrades, license management, security, and future/additional product evaluations for the business intelligence applications as needed
• Maintain and monitor all BI environments including development, test, production, and disaster recovery
• Cross-train and coordinate with team members in order to provide seamless and consistent system support
• Proactively develop, coordinate, and provide on-going training, functional, and technical direction to the super-users (content developers)
• Research functionality and technical configuration within the BI systems supported by the BI Applications group and prepare recommendations for system improvements whenever possible
• Provide Management with regular and timely status reports and benchmarking metrics of projects, issues, system implementations and upgrades
• Create documentation for project status reports, timelines, project issues and risks, change requests, requirements, design, testing plans and test cases as needed for assigned projects
• Define and document application best practices, required standards, processes, and guidelines regarding the use and administration of the BI tools
• Technical interface with IT local landscape teams, and Enterprise Data Warehouse teams Work with IT Local Landscape teams, DIAA Teams, Project Managers, Team Leads, and Technical Leads, as well as representatives from vendors to identify and resolve issues and remove obstacles in achieving the Advanced analytics objectives
• Partners and consults with business partners to understand their business requirements; recommends/designs research and analysis to improve business performance

Skills

• 8-12 Years of experience in IT
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in Installation configuration, administration, developer support, and on-call support of reporting and analytical solutions
• Experience in supporting and upgrading environments to Cognos v11
• Experience in tool administration, installation, configuration, code deployment, security administration, data analysis, querying and troubleshooting
• Experience in administrating BI applications
• Ability to provide a stable production environment that meets performance needs
• Experience in resolving production issues in a timely manner including on-call support
• Experience in maintaining audit/security
• Experience in planning and managing BI system implementations and upgrades
• Experience in license management, security, and product evaluations for business intelligence applications
• Experience in maintaining and monitoring all BI environments including development, test, production, and disaster recovery
• Experience in cross-training and coordinating with team members
• Experience in developing, coordinating, and providing ongoing training to super-users
• Experience in researching functionality and technical configuration within BI systems
• Experience in providing Management with regular and timely status reports and benchmarking metrics
• Experience in creating documentation for project status reports, timelines, project issues and risks, change requests, requirements, design, testing plans and test cases
• Experience in defining and documenting application best practices, required standards, processes, and guidelines regarding the use and administration of BI tools
• Experience in technical interface with IT local landscape teams and Enterprise Data Warehouse teams
• Experience in partnering and consulting with business partners to understand their business requirements
• 5-7 Years designing, developing, and administering Business Intelligence applications
• Cognos R11 upgrade experience
• Power BI Administration and Development Experience
• Location to be Remote with Atlanta/Fort worth preferred
