[Remote] Account Executive, Early Childhood / Head Start
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Learning Genie is an award-winning EdTech startup headquartered in Carlsbad, California, seeking a passionate Head Start Sales Representative to drive the adoption of their Head Start solutions nationwide. The role involves managing a national pipeline, conducting demos, and building relationships within the Head Start ecosystem to ensure compliance and improve program outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a national pipeline of Head Start grantees, delegate agencies, Community Action Agencies, school district-based programs, and tribal Head Start agencies
- Balance field outreach, conference presence, and inside sales activities to maximize territory coverage and relationship depth
- Conduct compelling demos for the full Head Start stakeholder ecosystem: Executive Directors, Head Start Directors, Education Managers, Family Service Managers, Fiscal Officers, and Policy Council representatives
- Navigate the dual Head Start governance structure — engaging both Governing Bodies and Policy Councils — to build true organizational buy-in
- Position Learning Genie's in-kind tools, family engagement features, and AI capabilities as direct solutions to HSPPS compliance needs and program goals
- Make the case for AI-powered tools confidently and credibly — even in front of skeptical, mission-first audiences
- Attend and represent Learning Genie at national, regional, and state Head Start conferences and association events
- Build lasting relationships with Head Start association board members, regional T/TA specialists, and program leaders
- Turn every conference into a pipeline-building and trust-building opportunity
- Manage long B2B SaaS sales cycles from first contact through signed contract
- Collaborate cross-functionally on pilots, proposals, and seamless onboarding handoffs
Skills
- 3+ years of sales or business development experience in Head Start, early childhood EdTech, or long-cycle institutional B2B SaaS — industry background is required
- Deep working knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards (HSPPS), Head Start operations, in-kind/non-federal match requirements, and federal monitoring cycles
- Proven ability to manage multi-stakeholder, long-cycle sales and consistently meet or exceed quota
- Strong relationship-building skills with mission-driven leaders — you earn trust, not just contracts
- Confident presenting and demoing AI-powered tools to audiences at all tech comfort levels
- Experience attending and networking at Head Start conferences at the national, regional, and state level
- Existing relationships with Head Start agencies or associations — a serious advantage
- Proficient in CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot) and comfortable managing a remote territory independently
- Prior experience as a Head Start director, education manager, family service coordinator, or T/TA specialist is a huge plus — lived experience sells

- Competitive compensation tailored to your experience
- Real career growth at a fast-moving, award-winning EdTech startup
