[Remote] Cardiology Expert – AI Clinical Reasoning Project

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The UVA VEC is seeking experienced Cardiology Professionals to contribute to an advanced AI research initiative focused on cardiovascular care. In this role, you will apply your expertise to train and evaluate AI systems by creating clinical scenarios and assessing medical reasoning.

Responsibilities

  • Design realistic cardiology case studies and clinical scenarios based on real-world patient care
  • Create attending-level reference responses covering diagnosis, treatment planning, and cardiovascular management
  • Evaluate AI-generated cardiology recommendations using structured assessment frameworks
  • Assess clinical reasoning, guideline adherence, imaging interpretation, and risk stratification
  • Review scenarios involving acute coronary syndromes, arrhythmias, heart failure, structural heart disease, and cardiac imaging
  • Provide detailed written feedback to improve AI model accuracy and clinical performance
  • Participate in onboarding sessions and specialty calibration activities

Skills

  • MD or DO degree (or equivalent)
  • Current active and unrestricted medical license (where applicable)
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Cardiology
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based cardiovascular medicine and clinical guidelines
  • Excellent written communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to provide detailed clinical reasoning and professional evaluations
