Position Overview

The Member Services Representative role sits within the Payments and Digital Strategy team of the arenaflex Credit Union. This is a fully remote, full‑time position based in the United States (Texas preferred) that offers a competitive hourly rate of $22–$35. You will be the front line of our financial operations, handling a wide variety of transaction processing, member inquiries, and compliance activities while delivering the hallmark arenaflex customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily transaction processing and reconciliation for ACH, wire, and electronic deposits.
  • Coordinate return items with members, vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other financial institutions.
  • Assist multiple departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and general ledger balancing.
  • Manage member cases and tickets assigned through the internal ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Maintain strict adherence to NACHA rules, Federal banking regulations, and arenaxflex internal policies.
  • Process mortgage payments, multi‑account deposits, credit card payments, and a variety of examinations (IRA, bankruptcy, payoff).
  • Review, approve, and audit Remote Deposit Capture, Mobile Deposit, ATM, and other image‑enabled products.
  • Log, analyze, and post critical GL entries, account adjustments, and returns.
  • Execute stop payments, check batching, and daily balancing procedures for the department.
  • Gather and verify information from members to ensure accurate and timely processing of domestic and international fund transfers.
  • Research and validate incoming and outgoing fund transfer data, communicating with members to facilitate transfers.
  • Ensure compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, anti‑money‑laundering (AML) regulations, and all relevant privacy statutes.
  • Support overdue returns processing, receipt issuance, foreign collections, and prison fees handling.
  • Continuously improve operational efficiency by identifying process gaps and recommending automation opportunities.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional post‑secondary education is a plus.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a customer service, member service, or banking environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite—especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and Word.
  • Demonstrated ability to work extended hours during peak periods while maintaining high quality output.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform mathematical calculations and data analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with members and internal partners.
  • Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
  • Willingness to complete arenaflex and Credit Union pre‑employment compliance screenings.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Previous experience in a credit union or banking setting, especially within payments processing.
  • Familiarity with Episys, Symitar, or similar core banking platforms.
  • Experience handling ACH, wire transfers, and remote deposit capture technologies.
  • Knowledge of NACHA operating rules, Federal Reserve regulations, and AML compliance.
  • Customer service certifications or training (e.g., Certified Customer Service Professional).
  • Ability to cross‑train and take on additional responsibilities within the department.
