Role Overview As a Card Scheme Financial Officer, you'll have the opportunity to lead and shape the financial strategies related to card schemes like Visa and Mastercard. This role is crucial for developing and managing financial operations at scale, ensuring competitive pricing, and aligning with business objectives. You'll be engaged in greenfield projects, building processes and teams from scratch, and directly interacting with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and refine merchant pricing strategies across products and markets. Build and manage unit economics models for profitability analysis. Establish and lead the card scheme financials function, including team development. Act as a liaison with Visa and Mastercard on financials, fees, and regulatory matters. Oversee card scheme financial operations, including reconciliations and fund flows. Contribute to pricing models and ensure compliance with internal controls and SOPs. Facilitate internal coordination and governance on financial decisions.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in card scheme financials or fee analysis. Strong understanding of card scheme rules, fee structures, and operating models. Experience working directly with Visa and Mastercard teams. Proven ability to build processes and teams from the ground up. Experience with multi-jurisdictional compliance within UK and EU EMI frameworks. Languages: English. Key Soft Skills Strong analytical skills to interpret complex financial data. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Solution-oriented approach with a focus on scalability and efficiency. Proactive and self-driven in a remote and international setting. Capability to work strategically and hands-on in financial operations.
